The Globe Media Excellence Awards 2015 Visayas (GMEA 2015) awarding ceremonies was held at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu last September 24, 2015 and I was honored to be one of the awardees as Blogger of the Year and Social Media Advocate of the Year.
To say that it was a great night is an understatement. To win as Blogger of the Year and Social Media Advocate of the Year for Visayas and to share the stage with other awardees from print, radio and tv is such an honor. Thanks to my DOST family for allowing me to attend this event and be absent from our dance number in a conference in Ormoc. Anyway, you will have a better chance of winning without me.
Thanks to my Negrense Blogging Society, Inc. family for the support and encouragement. Thanks to my husband for being supportive of my blogging because he knows he doesn’t have a choice anyway (It’s part of the package). Thanks to PR Works for arranging my transportation and accommodation at Marriott Hotel. Thanks to my hair for never letting me down. Always a conversation piece, the night did not end without my hair getting noticed. I did not go to the parlor, I did not even have time to shower coming straight from Ormoc. Thanks to Globe for this recognition.
With this award comes a responsibility to continue to be awesome in our craft, in our chosen medium. And since today is my daughter’s birthday, this is my gift to her. More than the award, I write about these issues because they are close to my heart. I write about these issues because they will affect my daughter’s future, one way or the other. I will do my little share in creating a wonderful world for her. I hope her generation will continue to see and enjoy the natural beauty of Negros Island. To God be the glory! I am truly humbled.
