Negros Island is the fourth largest island in the Philippines and the last time I checked it is located just between the islands of Panay and Cebu in the Visayas. However, it seems ABS-CBN have forgotten not only the location of Negros Island but if it exists at all.
In the latest Lupang Hinirang video that the network launched in time for the Independence Day, ABS-CBN forgot to place Negros Island in the Philippine map. They remembered to put Dubai in the video but forgot Negros Island.
We would have understood this blunder if this video was made by a 10-year old but ABS-CBN is a media giant with all the resources at its disposal. This video is watched by millions of Filipinos here and abroad so the least that ABS-CBN can do is to rectify this error or I suggest their staff should go back to elementary school.
Kuha nyo?
UPDATE: June 15, 2011
The erroneous ABS-CBN was removed by its uploader from Youtube. Below is the edited video of ABS-CBN. Alas! Negros has been found.
Francis says
And to think that most if not all of the “early” Lopez wealth was generated in Negros. Read your history people! Tsk-tsk, this is why I do not watch local television anymore!
This is just plain WTF stupid!
Tikalon says
You’d think that a multi-billion multimedia company like ABS-CBN has access to Philippine maps not sold in Divisoria. I have a feeling they copied the map found on fake Collezione t-shirts.
Glady says
Hehehe.. laban gid pirated.
Eli @ Business Sphere says
A video obviously made by Grade 6, Section 51 pupils.
Jinoe says
Ay teh. Kahangag.
Emmanuel Gonzalez says
That’s what you get when all your intention is to clearly beat the other network regarding this video. They seemed to have lost focus on the details. This is a major setback for ABS-CBN. How could they! Negrenses from both provinces have patronized their station and now this is how they repay us! No amount of explaining will make us forget this easily. PRETTY CHEAP!!!!
Cris Ondoy says
whoever is involved in the production of this video clip should be imprisoned particularly the one who are personally responsible in the production of the map graphics
WOW!!! WHAT A BLUNDER. KAHULUYA GID YA.
Bryan Sammis says
How can you loose a whole island?? Well, I hope somebody will put Negros back! I have some close friends there!
