To our readers who often travels, these tips will come in handy. If you need airport parking, whether it’s parking at Bristol, Edinburgh or perhaps parking at Gatwick, there are a number of different parking types to suit various requirements and budgets.
One of the most budget-friendly is off-site airport parking. This involves driving to a car park that’s located a short distance from the terminal, usually a 10 or 20 minute drive away, and parking there before taking an inclusive shuttle bus service to the airport. On your return home, you’ll meet the shuttle at a designated place ready to be taken back to your car. Although it’s not as convenient as parking close to the terminal building, it’s a cost-effective option that’s highly competitive and is generally well-run and efficient.
If you prefer to park on site, some airports are so large that you still need to use a shuttle to get to the airport. These are often more expensive than the off-site option so as you can imagine, it’s sometimes worth parking off-site to avoid paying extra for a process that can take the same amount of time. Of course there are other on-site car parks that are much closer to the terminal which means you can reach the airport on foot. But you know what’s coming next: they’re usually more expensive, so you certainly pay for a prime location.
Other types of airport car parking include specialist services such as Valet Parking or Meet and Greet. This typically involves dropping your car off at a convenient point virtually right outside the terminal entrance, and having someone bring your car back to you on your return home. Sometimes you can book the drop-off, the pick-up, or both. And you can really ramp up the luxury factor by having your car cleaned as well – and even parked in a high-security, covered car park.
Whatever you opt for, always remember to book early and look around for deals too, as you could make some significant savings. And the more you save on airport parking, the more extra money you can spend to enjoy when you go on holiday!
