SM City was one of the first establishments in Bacolod which recognized bloggers as part of its media network. Thus, when it hosted its First Media Night last January 5, 2012 the Negrense Blogging Society and Skyscrapercity Bacolod were also invited. Together with media practitioners from radio, print and TV, we were treated to buffet dinner.
Mall Manager George Jardiolin took the opportunity to share to the media the updates on the SM City Bacolod expansion. The Phase 1 of the expansion will soon be completed and the three-level building that will house SM Department Store will be occupied by April.
The Phase 2 will commence early this year which will make the North Wing into a wider building in order to accommodate more shops and restaurants. The media night will be one of the last events that will be held at the Event Center since it will temporarily be occupied by shops which will be affected by the expansion.
The talented Musicat singing group of the University of St. La Salle entertained us during dinner with their wonderful voices. The teens were very talented but I hoped they were old enough for the next entertainer.
The special guest for the night was the sexy and brainy comedienne Giselle Sanchez whose naughty jokes elicited raucous laughter from the crowd. Giselle happens to be half Ilongga, her mother is from Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, so she cracked some Ilonggo jokes which brought more laughter. The sexy comedienne says she considers herself part of the media since she has a degree in Mass Communications and a column in a newspaper. She also has a blog which has some really funny anecdotes.
Everybody had fun and we thank SM City Bacolod for the wonderful evening. We look forward to more fun years!
