Nobody should get lost in Bacolod or anywhere in the Philippines for that matter. I really appreciated the benefit of Google Maps when I traveled alone in Cebu last month.
I don’t know how to go around Cebu but with the help of an Android tablet, I was able to check the streets, landmarks and routes to my destinations. Taxi drivers couldn’t fool you since the Google Map app will be able to check the route he’s taking.
Just imagine a tourist in Bacolod City who don’t know his way around but with the use of a cellphone or tablet he’ll be able to find his way around the city. But this is only possible if Bacolod City’s tourist attractions, hotels, and other important places were extensively labeled in Google Maps. We can make this possible by being a Google Mapmaker.
Join the Google Bacolod MapUp event on June 11, 2012, 5pm to 10pm at
Kuppa Coffee and Tea, Bacolod City.
The activity will particularly focus in mapping the following:
– Tourist spots
– Airports/Ports/Bus Terminals

– Barangay / City Halls
The event is for free, just bring your laptop and extension cord. If you have your own WiFi stick then you can bring it along too.
