Multiply has recently announced that it will close down its social networking function and will fully transition into an e-commerce site on December 1, 2012. This was further confirmed by Multiply Marketing team when they met with bloggers and Multiply merchants in Bacolod City last August 31, 2012 at Sugarland Hotel.
The US company started as a social networking site in 2004 where users can easily share photos, music, videos and blogs. However, Multiply has grown by leaps and bounds, not as a social networking site but as an e-commerce site especially in Indonesia and the Philippines, prompting the company to move its headquarters to Indonesia early this year. Currently, Multiply has 6 million users with over 130,000 merchants.
In the Philippines, Multiply continues to thrive as a marketplace for Filipinos where entrepreneurs open up their own business with very little barrier and making online shopping more exciting for buyers.
Sellers can open an online shop in less than 20 minutes and with Multiply’s package of services, setting up payment options and shipping will no longer be a problem since these are already integrated into your e-commerce site. With a small annual fee of P2,999, you can be verified and use the trusted badge on your site. As a verified seller, your buyers are protected and your products get displayed on top Multiply Marketplace homepage.
Negros Occidental Products Soon on Multiply
Rianna Roces-Trinidad, Marketing Head of Multiply, said that members of the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) will soon open their shop on Multiply. I know there are already ANP members who are already online but with the tutelage of Multiply, those who are not yet tech-savvy will hopefully get a chance to showcase their products online. Through the use of technology, products of Negros Occidental will soon get a chance to reach the global market with minimal cost.
I have also entertained the opening of an e-commerce site for the longest time and I grabbed this chance to open one at Multiply because of their new platform which makes it easier for merchants. I will share with you the site as soon as I have product listings.
As a shopper, it’s never been easier. Just buy from sellers with a Trusted badge and you are protected. You can pay through paypal, credit card, G-Cash, Smart Money, and BDO and BPI over-the-counter payments. I bought several layette for my baby at discounted prices compared to those available at department stores. Shop now and take advantage of subsidized shipping fees.
