The MassKara Festival highlights is now permanently set every fourth Sunday of October. This is following the approval of the Sangguniang Panglungsod of Bacolod City last May 24 of an ordinance setting the MassKara Festival highlights.
The ordinance amended City Ordinance No. 686, Series of 2014 entitled “An Ordinance Amending City Ordinance No. 33 Dated October 6, 1987, Otherwise Known As “An Ordinance Making The MassKara Festival A Permanent Affair In The City Of Bacolod”, setting the MassKara Festival to be held during the week closest to October 19 which is the celebration of the Charter Anniversary of the City of Bacolod.
Check out the MassKara Festival Travel Guide for updated schedule, activities, accommodation and important travel tips.
The ordinance authored by Councilor Em Ang, who is also the Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, will make it easier for Balikbayans, tourists and OFWs to make travel plans ahead of the MassKara schedule since it’s fixed at every fourth Sunday of October. Those in the hospitality industry in Bacolod City can likewise prepare their marketing activities earlier in anticipation of the MassKara Festival.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcomed the setting of the permanent schedule of the MassKara highlights which also aims to strengthen, promote, and expand the festival’s impact in tourism.
