A lot of readers of this blog are well-traveled that’s why I want to share another holiday destination which is Goa in India. What can you expect from a holiday in Goa? Sun-soaked beaches for one thing, a friendly welcome and a long list of heritage sites. You can be sure of many new and wonderful experiences too.
Based on India’s stunning west coast, Goa benefits from a temperate year-round climate that offers plenty of sunshine in both summer and winter. Watch out for monsoon season – this typically takes place from June and usually lasts for around three months, when the scorching temperatures are cooled by an influx of wet weather. If you’re looking for a sunny beach break, do bear this in mind. But if you’re after a holiday of discovery, this could be a good time to visit. It’s cooler and quieter with fewer tourists, and it’s when the rural areas burst into life with lush greenery and colorful blooms at every turn.
For the sun-seekers, Goa has many beautiful beaches which offer plenty of areas for kicking back in quiet tranquility, or trying your hand at beach activities such as water sports.
And when you’re ready to get to know Goa a little better, there are plenty of new experiences you can get to grips with. This beautiful place is a biodiversity hotspot and is rich in flora and fauna, so you could take a leisurely boat cruise along the Goan backwaters to explore lush greenery and vine-tangled jungles, or hop on board an elephant for a day trip with a difference. Goa is thought to date back as much as 20,000 or 30,000 years, when early settlers left a legacy of rock art and cave paintings, along with tools such as stone axes and choppers that have been discovered along the river banks.
So when will you discover Goa? Rich in heritage and offering a unique holiday experience, a trip to Goa is the type of holiday that will live with you for a lifetime.
