Eating and drinking goes together perfectly especially when shared with family and friends. Brewery Gastropub Bacolod is one place where you have a lot of choices of local and imported beers and mouth-watering dishes. I’m so glad that they opened a branch in Bacolod in April because Brewery Gastropub in Iloilo is my favorite meeting place with my high school buddies.
Brewery Gastropub Bacolod didn’t disappoint. It’s located at Paseo Verde in Mandalagan, a dining hub in Bacolod. The place is well-lighted and the wood interiors and barrels gave it that pub feel. However, there’s no rowdy or noisy patrons. The crowd are mostly groups of family and friends who are just happy to eat, drink, and have good conversations. Perfect place to chill for the Titos and Titas and the young professionals. You can even tag along the kids for dinner.
Food for the tummy
I’m glad the bestsellers of Brewery Gastropub Iloilo are also available in Bacolod. Thanks to Chef Pauline Banusing who is well know in Iloilo City not only for Brewery Gastropub but also for her other restaurants such as Al Dente, Freska Hometown Buffet, and Farm to Table. Aside from Bacolod, Brewery Gastropub also has a branch in Cebu, the Brewer’s Kitchen.
To be honest, I’m here for the food. I’m the type that eats the pulutan while my friends chug down beers. My little tummy bulge is obviously not because of the beer. Here are the dishes you won’t dis at Brewery Gastropub Bacolod.
For appetizer and also for pulutan, the Salted Egg Hand Cut Fries is perfect. These freshly cut large potatoes, fried and coated with salted egg. Even the kids love them
I highly recommend Beer Battered Soft Shell Crab Tempura and it is something you don’t usually find in restaurants. It’s a little pricey since it’s very seasonal but it’s really delicious.
The Brewery Gastropub added pork floss to the usual Chicharon Bulaklak and the outcome is very flavorful.
“Bes, indi na ina ya sumsuman imo, panyapon na ina ya. ”
This is the usual comment I hear from friends because I can’t eat enough of Brewery’s Rack of Skewers, a mix of Thai Pork, Lemongrass Chicken, Veal Sausage and Hungarian Sausage. I especially love the sausages.
The Sea Bounty Salad is a colorful mix of carrots, cucumbers lettuce, tomatoes, watermelon, mangoes, nuts, and pan seared salmon in a calamansi vinaigrette. Those who are not into beef and pork will surely enjoy this delicious salad.
Slow Cooked Beef Belly is the perfect meal for beef lovers. It is U.S. beef belly cooked and made tender in the oven with herbs and spices for eight hours and served with red wine reduction.
Brewery Gastropub’s French Style Beef Brisket served with garlic rice is very satisfying. It has the delicious blend of sweetness and sourness that will make you eat more rice.
Who can resist Boneless Crispy Pata? This is served with onion rings and adobo rice. Perfect as a meal or pulutan.
If you’ve tag along the kids, they will surely love the Prosciutto Ham Pizza. You eat this thinly sliced pizza as is or drizzle it with red wine vinegar reduction and roll up with alfalfa sprouts.
Beer for the belly
Brewery Gastropub Bacolod offers a lot of choices, they have more than 120 imported and local bottled beers, nine handcrafted fresh beers in draft and almost 40 kinds of single malts and other imported liquors. Expect more choices as they continue to add more beers to their list.
They also serve Italian Merlot wine by the draft,I don’t drink often so my preference is for the sweet and fruity beers so Floris, Stella Artois, and Hoegaarden Rosée are some of the choices I can recommend to light drinkers like me. If you’re not sure which drink goes best with your food, you can ask the staff for suggestions.

We, my entire family included, absolutely adore Brewery Gastropub, both in Bacolod and Iloilo. We love the food, ambiance, and drinks. If there’s one thing that I would like to see, that’s more drinks for the kids. 😀 Otherwise, we love it here!
