The Chinese lanterns are up along Lacson Street and preparations are already underway for what could be the best BacoLaodiat Festival celebration. Once again, Bacoleños will celebrate the Chinese New Year with cultural shows, lantern parade, dragon and lion dances, lantern dance competition and more exciting events.
BacoLaodiat which was coined from Bacolod and Lao Diat (Fookien word for celebration) is Bacolod’s way of celebrating the Chinese New Year. In celebration of the Year of the Water Snake, Bacolod will attempt to land in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest human snake.
