The Negros Occidental Orchid Society will be holding the 10th Waling-Waling Festival on August 4-12, 2012 at the Robinsons Place Bacolod Fountain Area.
Waling-waling with scientific name Euanthe sanderiana orVanda sanderiana is endemic to the Philippines specifically in Davao, Cotabato and Zamboanga. The festival aims to awaken old enthusiasts, inspire new hobbyists and promote public awareness on the value of the waling-waling.
Waling-waling usually blooms between July to October each year thus the festival is held every August so that the magnificent flowers of waling-waling are at its peak.
