Bago City is blessed with so many natural wonder hence there are several Bago Resorts either government or privately-operated. One of which is the Kipot Twin Falls in Brgy Mailum, Bago City. The property was donated to the Local Government by the family of former Vice Mayor Romualdo Araneta and it is now managed by LGU Bago City as the Kipot Summer Resort.
You can reach the foot the falls through the 220 steps of stairs which winds down the side of the hill. There are rails to support visitors in going down the stairs. If you’re not up for the challenge, there’s a viewing deck where you have an excellent view of the beautiful Kipot Twin Falls. The resort also has cottages and picnic huts for rent which can accommodate small groups of family and friends.
Kipot Twin Falls is a single stream which is separated by a big rock splitting the flow to two identical falls. The twin cascades fall unto the rocky stream below and its gargle is like music in the midst of the lush forest. I was first enchanted by the falls the first time we went there when I was in college. The falls is as enchanting today with no signs of abuse. If my memory serves me right, the trees were as verdant and the surrounding as clean as it was 15 years ago.
Kipot Twin Falls can be reached via Bago City and Mambukal Resort. For more information, you may contact Bago City Tourism Affairs Office at Tel. No.: (034) 461-0540, Telefax: (034) 461-1028.
