Pain n’ Ink Production in cooperation with Puwersa Pintura, Majica- Art District and the Negros Museum is organizing a 1st Negros Tattoo gathering and competition dubbed “PIKAHAN” on October 14, 2011 at the Art Disctrict – Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
It’s an event that will give emphasis and and revive the tattoo culture and tradition in the island of Negros which had been practiced during the pre-Spanish colonization where tribesmen acquire it for showing an extraordinary valor and wear it with pride and on the other hand represents beauty for the maharlikan women. Thus our island was called ” Las islas de pintados”.
The event also aim to heighten the education and awareness on such medium of art through body modification as well as develop the level of sanitation for the sake of safety and professionalism in the tattoo industry.

TATTOO COMPETITION MECHANICS
1. This Tattoo Art Challenge is open to ALL Tattoo Artists (Professional and Non- Professional).
2 Three (3) years of practice on tattoo arts qualifies for the “PROFESSIONAL ENTRY LEVEL” while below the required number of years falls under “NON-PROFESSIONAL ENTRY LEVEL”.
3. All tattoo participants must comply with Health & Safety Protocol and must use only disposable tubes, needles, tips and ink cups during the competition.
4. On the spot participants should strictly follow the allotted time to do their design entry. Schedule of which is from 1pm to 7pm only. Participants who make pre-work for their tattoo entry will be automatically disqualified.
5. Minimum size for Professional Category is 5”x6”, and 4”x4” for Non-Professional Category.
6. Registration fee of P500 for every entry.
7. Only model and artist are allowed inside the competition area.
8. The Organizer has the right to disqualify participants displaying unlikely behavior during the competition proper.
9. No refund will be made for any cancelled participation.
