An invitation from the Negros Museum for a writing workshop with New York based educator Dr. Virginia Cu on August 5 is hard to pass up. Writing from Within: Rediscovering the Joys of Writing opened an opportunity for me to meet women who are as passionate to writing, both as a profession and as a hobby.
The fact that I maintain this blog is an obvious indication that I love writing. I may not be the best writer around but I believe I will become a better writer by writing. I don’t mind receiving comments from my readers correcting my grammar for I believe it’s a way for me to improve. That’s also an indication that you actually read my blog and care enough to correct me.
For those who haven’t yet discovered the joys of writing, there’s so many things to write about and the only thing you have to do is to start writing. It doesn’t matter if your grammar is wrong or your topic is mediocre. Just write! It’s your own story to tell so nobody can tell you you’re wrong. Even if you end up the only person reading your work, it doesn’t matter. Believe me, there’s a different kind of satisfaction in putting your thoughts into words. Writing a memoir may still be a long shot for me but who knows, I may get to publish a compilation of my best articles here on ExperienceNegros.
I believe my perspective is not the only perspective you should read when we talk about Bacolod City and Negros Occidental. Thus, I welcome your own stories. I encourage you to share it with our readers here in order to offer them a different point of view. We’d love to hear from you. Share your experience with us!
