SpaceX announced today that Starlink is now available in the Philippines.
The Henry Sy, Jr.-backed Data Lake Inc. and SpaceX’s Starlink, owned by tech mogul Elon Musk, inked an agreement last year to launch Starlink in the Philippines making the country the first in Southeast Asia to avail of the Starlink technology. However, the planned December 2022 launched was not able to push through.
Starlink Internet Speed and Rate
Upon checking the Starlink website for Bacolod City location, it states that customers in the region typically see download speeds of 50-200 Mbps.
For application requirements, you need to fill-out an online form, PhilSys Card Number (PCN) is optional, there is no contract requirement, and shipping times for the hardware are currently estimated to be 2-3 weeks from order.
Starlink Internet rate is at P2,700/mo for service and a one time payment of P29,320 for hardware.
Starlink is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls and other high-data activities that historically have not been possible with satellite internet.
