In these times when safety is a top priority, we must also look into how we can keep our food safe – not only for food at home but, more importantly, for those of us who are involved in the food industry. Learn more about how we can maintain the highest standards of food safety by listening to the experts. With this goal in mind, AFEDI in cooperation with the PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL presents a series of talks and videos to tackle this important subject.
The first of the series will be a free webinar to be held via ZOOM this coming May 26th , 2021, 9-11am, with the title “Food Safety Talks: Safe Food Saves Lives”.
The first guest speaker will be Dr. Regina P. Berba, Associate Professor of the UP College of Medicine, and Head of the Hospital Infection Control Unit, PGH. Dr. Berba will speak on “Food Business and the Pandemic: What We Need to Know?”.
The next guest speaker will be Dr. Teresita Cucueco, MD, CESO III, the Director of the Bureau of Working Conditions of the DOLE. She will speak on “Pandemic as an Occupational Hazard in the Food Industry: The Labor and Legal Implications”.
Clearly, these topics are now essential to each and every company that is in the food providing industry. Definitely a talk that should not be missed.
Gracing this session will also be the Governor of Negros Occidental, the Honorable Gov. Eugenio Lacson, as well as AFEDI President, Doreen Alicia Gamboa.
To add more insight to the topics in the perspective of food providers, our local restaurateurs, Mr. David Ian Jarvis of Jarvis Gourmet Foods, Mr. Bobby Magalona of Café Bob’s, and Mr. Nestor Evaristo of Aboy’s Restaurant, will be reactors during this event. Moderating will be Ms. Ana Maria Isabel V. Salacata of the Negrense Food Consultancy Group.
