Yesterday’s first finals game of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Suzuki Under-23 National Cup Finals match Negros vs Iloilo has dispelled any doubt to the intense rivalry between the formidable teams. Those who watched the game at the Central Philippine University said it was like a wrestling match. But after all the injuries and red cards, Negros won the game with a 3-1 score during the extension.
Ironically, it was Joven Bedic who is a native Barotac Nuevo but plays for West Negros University gave the crucial goal for Negros . He was knocked over several times and also taunted by the crowd. It must be hard for this guy playing against his hometown but like a true sportsman, he gave it his best.
Bacolod will be defending the home field at the next Negros vs Iloilo game will be at the Panaad Stadium on May 22, 2011 at 6pm. The game will be intense so don’t miss the excitement.
