The Biogesic Ingat ad with John Lloyd Cruz is probably one of the most successful ads in the industry probably launched John Lloyd as a bankable product endorser. It’s been 5 years and still we don’t get tired of hearing John Lloyd tell us “Ingat!” which earned him the monicker “Mr. Ingat.”
More than just a beautiful face
John Lloyd Cruz, the first-ever male to top the “100 Most Beautiful Stars” of Yes Magazine was in Bacolod yesterday to celebrate his 5 years with Biogesic. The lunch with the press at the La Proa Ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel was hosted by Carmela Gamboa of ABS-CBN TV Show “MagTV na“.
Lloydie as he was fondly called, answered questions from the media including the Negros Bloggers about his personal life, career and his endorsement of Biogesic. He breezed through the questions with wit and humor, answering even tough questions on politics.
John Lloyd was very honest in admitting he doesn’t know a lot on politics. That’s what he answered when asked to give an advice to PNoy. Besides, he said the problems of the country is like having a cancer so let’s give PNoy a chance. When asked on his opinion on the controversy on the CCP Kulo exhibit, he believes there are more pressing matters for the government to spend time on. Asked on what it takes to be the most beautiful, John Lloyd reveals he doesn’t have a regimen. Although as actors they were advised on certain routines, he admits not sticking to it.
Indeed, the man is more than just a beautiful face. Besides, it takes a lot of confidence to play a gay role and accept an award for being the most beautiful star in the country.
Headache ba kamo? I-Biogesic na!
Paracetamol Biogesic is the No.1 brand most prescribed by doctors in the country for the relief of headaches. Nikki Godino, Biogesic brand manager explains that the “micronized technology” in Biogesic for Kids makes it easy to dissolve by the body for faster relief of fever and headaches.
A lot of Filipinos trust Biogesic because most of us grew up with it. It’s what your parents let you take every time you had fever as a kid so the trust for the brand is passed on to you. Knowing that it’s made by Unilab, a Filipino pharmaceutical company which has been around since 1945 assures you of its efficacy.
Ingat Pilipinas Campaign
Unilab is also working on an advocacy for a safer Philippines. The Ingat Pilipinas campaign was launched in October 2010 to spread awareness on the importance of safety. Ms. Godino shared that 80% of road accidents are caused by human error and 60 percent are caused by aggressive driving. Biogesic is working with different government and private agencies on this advocacy and has already conducted driving tutorials to jeepney drivers.
So, you’re not too keen on John Lloyd?
On the lighter side, when asked how long they intend to make John Lloyd a Biogesic endorser, Ms. Godino said it depends on its consumers. The crowd replied, for life.
There’s one person I know who is also happy to hear that. May Mee is a die hard Lloydie fan so when ABS-CBN invited the Negros Bloggers for this press lunch, I immediately invited her. There was a little mix up and she was not included in the official list of invitees but I still told her to come. When we met at the venue, I told her that if she was not on the list, I would gladly give her my place since I was not really too keen on John Lloyd. Fortunately, the ABS-CBN people were very accommodating and added her on the list. Otherwise, I would have shot myself in the mouth for saying I was not too keen on John Lloyd.
However, it was Maricar Dabao who was the luckiest for receiving a kiss from John Lloyd amidst our shrieks. Eeek, I shrieked! So, you’re not too keen on John Lloyd ha? That was May Mee taunting me. Ok, I’m a convert. And, just because she has made all her friends know how die-hard she is of Lloydie, she gets home with his half empty mineral water bottle courtesy of Anton. I’m afraid to ask what she’s going to do with it.
