Team Tikim went on another mission to review Frankie’s Crepes & Pancake House. Team Tikim is the brainchild of Sun Star Bacolod columnist Betsy Gazo who’s also a member of the French Club. I guess it’s only natural that crepes would be on our hit list.
Crepe is a thin pancake which originated in Brittany France. It is made by pouring a liquid batter onto a flat circular plate, spreading evenly until the desired thinness is acquired. Crepes can have various fillings and toppings and can be eaten as a meal or as dessert.
To my knowledge, Frankie’s Crepes & Pancake House is one of two restaurants specializing in crepes in Bacolod City. Frankie’s is located in front of O’ Fisher Spa at the ground floor of Metrodome Araneta.
It’s a small place with a homey ambiance and you could smell the aroma of your food while they prepare it.
Babes Fisher, owner of Frankie’s and O’ Fisher Spa, chose the crepes for us and sat with us while we waited for our food. While the staff prepare the crepes and other orders, we chatted more on travel and food while the delicious smell of crepes and pasta sauce wafted on our noses.
We tried “Cheese, Egg & Ham Crepe”, “Creamy Mushroom Crepe”, “Banana, Chocolate with Whipped Cream”, “Chocolate, Mango with Cashew Nuts”, and “Banana with Strawberry”.

I personally liked the Banana, Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Chocolate, Mango with Cashew Nuts. They use fresh fruits for filling and the crepes are really thin. Are they as close to the original French crepes? They are according to the other Team Tikim members who’ve been to France. One commented the crepes are even more delicious than a famous crepe restaurant in Manila.
Frankie’s Crepes also have pasta dishes served with a slice of toasted homemade bread. The bread is really delicious and filling and you can buy them at P120 a loaf. They ran out fast though so I suggest you pre-order them since I was told it takes several hours to prepare.
The prices of Frankie’s crepes are very affordable at a range of P90-P130 already served with iced tea. We suggested they come up with additional flavors or have the customers mix and match their own fillings. I haven’t tried their pancakes yet but I will be coming back for it since they have an Eat-All-You-Can Pancakes every Sunday for only P90 which already include an iced tea.
Negrenses are a well-traveled lot so I guess crepes would be a welcome addition to the growing number of foreign-flavored restaurants in Bacolod City. We were quite satisfied with our Team Tikim experience at Frankie’s Crepes & Pancakes and we gladly recommend it.
